This month, the congregation welcomes our new pastor, Rev. Kim DuBreuil. The following is the announcement was made by the Staff-Parish Committee:

The Staff-Parish Relations Committee is pleased to announce our new pastor at First United Methodist Church of Lake Alfred is Reverend Kimberly “Kim” DuBreuil.  She has been serving churches in the Florida Conference since 2013. Pastor Kim has one son; Justin Reilly, who attends Auburn University in Alabama. Kim’s mother, Joyce Regnvall, will also be joining us. The family are native Floridians. Pastor Kim’s first sermon will be on Sunday, July 11.

Pastor Kim graduated from Santa Fe High School in Lakeland and received a bachelor’s degree in communication from the University of Florida, Gainesville. In addition, she graduated from Asbury Theological Seminary, Orlando, with a masters of divinity; she also holds a paralegal certificate from Georgetown University in Washington, DC.

Says Pastor Kim, “It is with great appreciation to our Lord that I begin a new journey at First UMC, Lake Alfred. One of my favorite verses comes from 2 Corinthians 4:1-7: ‘Yes, everything is for your sake, so that grace, as it extends to more and more people, may increase thanksgiving, to the glory of God’ (v 15).”

“Christ’s church is a place for transformation of individuals, inspired by the Good News of Christ’s love for all, and it springs us into action for God’s mission to change the world. I look forward to many years of joyous and fruitful ministry in Lake Alfred and its surrounding communities. Greetings in Christ!”
